How to save photo edits as a filter on iPhone

The short answer

Yes. In PicWay, edit a photo until you like the colors, tap Save filter, and name it. Next time, open Filters and tap your filter under Custom filters. It applies the same light and color settings, built-in filter, and grain to the new photo.

How to do it

  1. Edit a photo

Open a photo in PicWay and tap Edit. Pick a filter, set its strength, and adjust light and color in the Adjust tab until it looks right.

  2. Tap Save filter

In the Adjust tab, tap Save filter at the top left. Or, in Filters, tap the + Save filter tile at the end of Custom filters.

  3. Name it

Type a name, up to 40 characters, and tap Save. Each filter needs its own name.

  4. Use it on another photo

Open another photo, video, or Live Photo, tap Edit, then Filters. Your filter is under Custom filters, right after Recent. Tap it once.

What gets saved in a filter?

Your color settings: light and color adjustments (Exposure, Brilliance, Highlights, Shadows, Contrast, Warmth, and the rest), the built-in filter you picked and its strength, and grain. Crop, rotation, markup, and frames aren’t saved, so the filter fits any photo.

Isn’t this what Copy Edits does?

They’re close. In the iPhone Photos app, you copy the edits from one photo and paste them onto others (Apple’s iPhone User Guide, iOS 27). That works well for a batch you’re editing right now. A PicWay custom filter has a name and stays in your filter list, so you can use it next week too.

What if I tap the filter twice?

Nothing stacks. Applying a filter sets the colors to what you saved, so tapping it again gives the same result. Undo brings back what you had before.

How do I rename or delete one?

Touch and hold the filter, then tap Rename or Delete filter. Photos you already saved with it don’t change. You can keep up to 60 custom filters.
