Life Photos Only
Just your photos.
No screenshots in the way.
Switch the Photos tab from All to Life.
Screenshots, screen recordings and GIFs step aside. Nothing is deleted.
On iOS 18 and later, the iPhone Photos app can hide screenshots: open View Options (on iOS 26 and later, tap the Sort and Filter button; on iOS 18, swipe down on the grid and tap the Filter button), then tap Screenshots. PicWay’s Life view hides more in one switch. In PicWay’s Photos tab, switch from All to Life to hide screenshots, screen recordings, animated images, and images that weren’t taken with a camera whose text looks like a receipt, ID or document. Nothing is deleted. If PicWay isn’t sure, the photo stays in Life, and you can touch and hold any photo to add it to Life or remove it.

Your photos are in there.
They’re just buried.
Screenshots, receipts, screen recordings and GIFs land in the same grid as your trips and your friends. Finding one photo means scrolling past all of them.
What Life hides
What does the Life
view hide?
Life hides these from the Photos tab grid. They stay in your library, and All still shows everything.
| Screenshots | Hidden |
|---|---|
| Screen recordings | Hidden |
| Animated images (GIFs) | Hidden |
| Receipts, IDs and documents | Hidden when the image wasn’t taken with a camera and the text in it looks like a receipt, ID or document |
| Photos taken with a camera | Stay in Life, however much text is in them |
| Tickets, boarding passes, handwritten cards, QR codes | Not counted as documents |
| Not sure? | Stays in Life |
How to switch
How do I see
only my photos?
Open the Photos tab and tap the All | Life switch at the top. A note at the top of the grid says how many screenshots and documents are hidden. Tap Show to see everything again.
- Touch and hold All at the bottom of the Photos tab to pick another view: Other, Travel, Moments, Albums or Favorites
- Other shows only what Life hides
Your call
What if it gets
one wrong?
-
Touch and hold to fix it
In the All grid, touch and hold a photo, then tap Remove from Life or Add to Life. It moves right away.
-
See why it’s hidden
Open the photo and swipe up for info. It says why, such as “Screenshot · hidden in Life” or “Looks like a receipt, ID or document.”
-
Your fix wins
What you mark beats PicWay’s own guess, so a photo you added to Life stays there.
iPhone Photos app
Can’t the Photos app
hide screenshots?
It can. On iOS 18 and later, open View Options in Photos and tap Screenshots. On iOS 26 and later, View Options is under the Sort and Filter button; on iOS 18, swipe down on the grid and tap the Filter button. Here’s what each one does, per Apple’s iPhone User Guide.
| Photos app › View Options | Hides Screenshots, From My Mac, and Shared with You items (iOS 18, iOS 26, iOS 27 guides) |
|---|---|
| Photos app › Utilities | Collects identity documents, receipts, handwriting, illustrations and QR codes so you can find them |
| PicWay › Life | One switch hides screenshots, screen recordings, animated images, and images not taken with a camera whose text looks like a receipt, ID or document |
| PicWay › Memories and widgets | Leave out screenshots, screen recordings and animated images by default |
Good to know
What Life doesn’t do
-
It doesn’t delete
Life only hides. Everything stays in your library and shows up again in All.
-
It stays in the Photos tab
Life only changes the Photos tab grid. Album pages and search still show everything.
-
It doesn’t upload
Everything happens on your iPhone, and your photos aren’t uploaded.
