How to make a photo collage on iPhone with up to 30 photos

The short answer

You can make a photo collage on iPhone with PicWay: up to 20 photos in standard ratios (3:4, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16), or up to 30 in Long strip. You can still change the ratio, layout, and background after it’s made. It’s saved once, in your Photos library, and you can find it again in PicWay’s Creations.

How to do it

  1. Pick your photos

Tap Collage on the Memories tab, choose your photos on the Pick photos for a collage screen, then tap Add. You can add more on the editing page later.

  2. Change the ratio and layout

Tap the ratio button to switch between 3:4, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, and Long strip. Tap Shuffle layouts for new arrangements. With Long strip, you can also change Rows.

  3. Choose a background

Choose an automatic color from your photos, a solid color, or a gradient.

  4. Export

Tap Export at the top right, choose a format, then tap Save to Photos or Share. With only still photos, it exports as a regular image.

How many photos fit in a photo collage on iPhone?

Up to 20 in standard ratios (3:4, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16), and up to 30 in Long strip. If you switch to a standard ratio, photos over the limit are removed from the collage, and PicWay tells you.

Where is the collage saved?

It’s saved once, in the PicWay Creations album in the Photos app. You’ll also find it in PicWay’s Creations, where you can open or share it again.

Can I make one without opening PicWay?

Yes. Select 2 to 30 photos in the Photos app, tap Share, and scroll to Collage. You can also add the Collage widget to your Home Screen and start with one tap.

If a collage has a Live Photo in it, it moves. See how to make a Live Photo collage.
