To cut out the middle of a video on iPhone, open it in PicWay, tap Edit, then Trim. Split the video where the part you don’t want starts and ends, select that section, and tap Delete. Each remaining section can have its own speed (0.5× to 3×) and volume (0 to 200%). Save it as a new video, or replace the original and revert later.

## Cut out the middle. Keep the good parts. {#top}

Split a video, delete any section, and give each part its own speed and volume.

## What can’t the iPhone Photos app do? {#photos-app}

Apple’s iPhone User Guide shows how to trim where a video starts and stops, and how to slow down videos shot at a high frame rate. It doesn’t cover cutting out a section in the middle. That’s what PicWay adds.

- **Split anywhere**: Move the playhead to a spot and tap Split. Do it again, and the video becomes three sections.
- **Delete the middle**: Select a section and tap Delete. The parts before and after it play back to back.
- **Or keep only one part**: Tap Keep Only to keep the selected section and drop everything else.

## Can I speed up just one part of a video? {#speed}

Yes. Each section has its own speed and volume. Select a section, tap Speed or Volume, and drag the slider.

- **Speed: 0.5× to 3×**: Slow down the moment that matters and speed through the walk to get there. Voices keep their pitch.
- **Volume: 0 to 200%**: Turn down the wind in one section and turn up a quiet voice in another.
- **Apply to All**: Like a setting? Tap Apply to All to use it on every section.
- **Original sound on or off**: A switch beside the timeline turns the original sound off for the whole video.

## Does editing replace my original video? {#original}

You choose when you save.

- **Save as new video**: Your original stays untouched, and the edited version is saved as a new video.
- **Replace original**: Keeps one video in your library. You can still revert to the original later.
- **Undo and Redo**: Every split, delete, and speed change can be undone while you edit.
