This is a free online tool for iPhone owners who need to turn HEIC photos into JPG or PNG, and it needs no sign-up. Choose your HEIC photos on this page and they turn into JPG or PNG in your browser. If a photo has a Display P3 color profile, it is written into the new file. Location is removed by default, and you can remove all camera and date info too.

## How to do it {#steps}

1. **Choose your HEIC photos**: Choose up to 50 HEIC photos with the box above, or drop them on it.
2. **Pick the settings**: Choose JPG or PNG. Leave “Remove location” on if you plan to share the photos. Turn on “Remove all camera and date info” to remove the camera and date info (EXIF). The color profile stays.
3. **Download**: Download each photo, or take them all in one ZIP.

## Batch-convert up to 50 HEIC photos to JPG or PNG {#batch}

Choose up to 50 HEIC photos at once, up to 200 MB each. Each one is converted to JPG (JPEG) or PNG in your browser, on this page. When two or more are done, one button downloads them all as a ZIP. These limits are for this web tool.

## How this HEIC to JPG converter keeps your colors {#colors}

Many iPhone photos are stored with a Display P3 color profile, which covers more colors than the sRGB that most websites assume. When you convert, this tool reads the profile from the HEIC file and writes it into the JPG or PNG, so the colors match the original on screens and apps that read profiles. If the photo has no profile, the new file has none either, and it shows as sRGB.

In browsers that can decode HEIC themselves, the browser does the decoding. In other browsers the tool loads a decoder the first time you use it.

## What happens to location and EXIF {#location}

Photos carry hidden info called EXIF: the capture date, camera, lens, and sometimes the GPS position. The first checkbox, **Remove location**, is on by default. It removes the GPS block and the embedded preview image, and keeps the rest. The second, **Remove all camera and date info**, strips all EXIF. The color profile is kept, because removing it changes how the photo looks.

Each converted photo shows what was found and what was removed, so you can check before you share it.

## Limits {#limits}

You can add up to 50 photos at a time, up to 200 MB each. Very large photos are shrunk if the browser’s canvas can’t hold them, and the result says so.

## Convert on your iPhone with PicWay {#picway}

If you convert a lot of photos, you can do it from your library. In PicWay, open a photo’s menu and tap **Convert format**, then choose JPG or PNG. The copy is saved to the **PicWay Conversions** album in Photos, and the original isn’t replaced or deleted. See the step-by-step guide: [How to convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone](https://picway.app/guides/convert-heic-to-jpg-iphone/).

PicWay isn’t on the App Store yet. [Get one email when it launches](https://picway.app/go/ot-1102-01).

## Frequently asked questions {#faq}

### Is my photo sent to a server? {#does-it-upload}

No server receives the photo file: it is opened and converted inside this browser tab. In browsers that can’t decode HEIC themselves, the converter code is loaded the first time you use it.

### Why do converted photos sometimes look duller? {#colors-look-different}

They look duller when a converter drops the Display P3 color profile, and this tool keeps it. iPhone photos often use the wider Display P3 color range. A converter that drops the color profile makes P3 colors look flat on other screens. This tool writes the original profile into the new file when your photo has one. Some apps ignore profiles, and those will still show the colors flat.

### Does it remove the location from my photo? {#location-removed}

Yes, by default. The tool removes the GPS location and the small preview image stored in the photo’s info. After each photo it tells you whether a location was found and removed. Turn on “Remove all camera and date info” to remove the camera, lens, and date as well.

### Does a PNG keep the camera and date info? {#png-info}

No. PNG output carries no EXIF, and the color profile is kept. If you want to keep the capture date and camera info, save as JPG instead.

### Can I convert HEIC to JPG on my iPhone without a website? {#iphone-convert}

Yes. You can set Camera to Most Compatible so new photos are saved as JPG. PicWay also has a Convert format action for photos you already have. The linked guide walks through the options.

### How many photos can I convert at once? {#how-many}

Up to 50 photos at a time, 200 MB each. If you add more than 50, only the first 50 are added. When two or more photos are done, one button downloads them all as a ZIP.

### Can I choose the JPG quality? {#jpg-quality}

Yes. A JPG quality slider goes from 50% to 100% and starts at 92%. It is hidden when you save as PNG.

### What happens if I add a photo that is already a JPG or PNG? {#already-jpg}

The page tells you it is already a JPG or PNG and does not convert it. It points you to the location remover and the border maker instead.

### Why can the first conversion take a moment in some browsers? {#first-load}

In a browser that can’t open HEIC by itself, the converter code loads the first time you use it. After that, conversions run in the same tab, and the result row says “decoded with libheif” for those photos.

### What happens with a very large photo? {#large-photo}

It is shrunk only if it is larger than this device’s canvas can hold, and the result row tells you. A photo under that limit keeps its full size.

### Do I need to sign up for an account? {#no-signup}

No. There is no sign-up. Open this page, choose your file and download the result.
