To keep photos out of memories without deleting them, use the Memories to skip setting in PicWay. You can skip by date range, album, or single photo. It only changes what PicWay suggests to you, so you can still see those photos in your library or an album.

## How to do it {#steps}

1. **Open Memories to skip**: Tap the gear at the top right of the Memories tab, then tap Memories to skip.
2. **Skip a date range or album**: Tap Add date range or Add album.
3. **Skip a single photo**: Touch and hold the photo in your library and choose Skip in reviews.
4. **Undo it later**: Remove the rule on the Memories to skip page. For a single photo, touch and hold it and choose Resume reviews.

## What changes when you keep photos out of memories {#avoid-scope}

Skipped photos stop appearing in On This Day, journeys, Moments, Tidy, reminders, and widgets. Nothing is deleted, and you can still see those photos when you open your library or an album.

## Do screenshots show up too? {#screenshots-in-memories}

Not by default. **No screenshots or documents in memories** is on by default, so reviews, On This Day, memories, and widgets leave out screenshots, screen recordings, and animated images.

## How to see less of something in Apple’s Memories {#system-memories}

The Photos app has its own settings. Open a photo of the person you want to see less of, tap the More button, tap Don’t Feature a Person, and choose Feature This Person Less or Never Feature This Person. You can also tap your account at the top right of Collections and turn off Show Featured Content or Show Holiday Events ([Apple’s guide](https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/iph10a9dd2a1/ios)).
