PicWay is a swipe photo organizer for iPhone and iPad. Like Slidebox, you go through photos one at a time. By default, swipe right to keep, left to set aside, and up to favorite. Set-aside photos stay in your library until you review them and confirm the delete with iOS.

| Feature | PicWay | Slidebox |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The swipe | By default, swipe right to keep, left to set aside, and up to favorite. You can change Set Aside direction in Review settings. | Swipe up to trash, down to mark favorite, and tap an album to sort the photo. ([slidebox.co](https://slidebox.co/)) |
| Setting photos aside | By default, a left swipe sets the photo aside. It stays in your library, and you can tap Put back anytime. | Trashing a photo marks it as trashed inside Slidebox. Nothing happens to the photo outside Slidebox. ([slidebox.co](https://slidebox.co/faq-ios.html)) |
| Deleting and recovering | To really delete, you review the set-aside photos, then iOS asks you to confirm. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted for 30 days. | Deleting trashed photos removes them from your iOS photo library on all your devices. They stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. ([slidebox.co](https://slidebox.co/faq-ios.html)) |
| Similar photos | Similar shots and bursts get their own groups, and duplicate items are grouped so each group keeps one. You choose what to keep. | Swipe between duplicate photos to decide which ones to keep. ([apps.apple.com](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slidebox-photo-cleaner-app/id984305203)) |
| Where to start | Start from On This Day, Memories by month, by album, or by place, a Journey, or One at random. | Sort photos into albums with a single tap, and mark your best photos as favorites. ([apps.apple.com](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slidebox-photo-cleaner-app/id984305203)) |
| iPhone and iPad | Works on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17.0 or later. | The App Store lists Slidebox for iPhone and iPad. ([apps.apple.com](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slidebox-photo-cleaner-app/id984305203)) |

Which to use: If you want to file photos into albums as you swipe, Slidebox is built around that: tap an album to sort the photo. If you’d rather go through memories like On This Day or a trip, keep screenshots and documents out of view, and compress videos or lock private photos in the same app, try PicWay.

## When Slidebox fits {#when-slidebox-fits}

Slidebox is built around sorting as you swipe: swipe up to trash, down to favorite, and tap an album to file the photo. Its App Store page also lists comparing similar photos and undoing actions.

## When PicWay fits {#when-picway-fits}

- You want to go through photos by memory, like On This Day, a month, a place, or a Journey.
- You want set-aside photos to stay in your library, so you can put them back anytime.
- You want screenshots, screen recordings, and document-like images out of view. The Life view hides them without deleting them.
