To blur part of a photo on iPhone, open it in PicWay, tap Edit, then Markup, and tap Blur out. A box appears: drag it over the face or text, resize it, and choose Blur or Pixelate. The Intensity slider sets how strong it is. You can add more than one box, and Blur out also works on Live Photos and videos.

## Hide what shouldn’t be shared. {#top}

Box it, then blur or pixelate it. Photos, Live Photos, and videos.

## How do I blur part of a photo? {#how}

- **1. Open Markup**: Open the photo or video in PicWay, tap Edit, then tap Markup.
- **2. Tap Blur out**: A box appears in the middle. Drag it over the face, name, or plate, and use the handles to resize it.
- **3. Blur or Pixelate**: Pick Blur or Pixelate, then slide Intensity to make it stronger or lighter.

## Faces, screenshots, and videos {#details}

- **More than one box**: Add as many boxes as you need, up to 40 markup items per photo.
- **Videos and Live Photos**: Markup is in the editor for videos and Live Photos too, and the box is drawn on every frame. It stays where you put it and doesn’t follow a moving face.
- **Your original stays**: Save as New Photo keeps the original untouched. For videos, Save as new video does the same.

## Can’t the iPhone Photos app do this already? {#photos-app}

Apple’s iPhone User Guide (iOS 27) describes Markup for drawing, text, and shapes, and Clean Up for removing objects on iPhones with Apple Intelligence. It doesn’t describe a box you drag over something to blur it. PicWay has one.

- **Also in Markup**: Text, Stamp, Draw, Box, Circle, Arrow, and Spotlight sit in the same tool row as Blur out.
- **Mix and match**: Each box has its own style and strength, so you can blur one spot and pixelate another.
- **Starts as Pixelate**: A new Blur out box starts as Pixelate. Switch to Blur anytime.
